Working with Hiatco, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of overhead line maintenance equipment, we sourced and imported a 24v DC motor to use on their Power Spacer Chair.

The Power Spacer Chair is a specialist piece of equipment used by National Grid and its fleet of maintenance contractors including Morrison Energy Services, SSE & Wood Plc.

We initially worked alongside the team at Hiatco whilst they were re-developing their Manual Spacer Chair into a powered, motorised variant.

We sourced these motors with the exact requirements in terms of gear ratio, shaft specifications, expected component lifespan and mounting position.

We have been supplying these motors to Hiatco for almost 15 years now, providing 3-4 shipments per year to keep them constantly stocked for their customers’ needs.
